Personal statement:

Arianne Elissen (1984) graduated with a Master’s degree in Health Policy, Economics and Management from Maastricht University. She has a PhD from Maastricht University, where she wrote her dissertation on chronic care management in Europe at the CAPHRI School of Public Health and Primary Care. Her PhD study was part of a large-scale, international project concerning the methods for evaluation of real-world impact of complex chronic disease management programmes, which was funded by the European Commission (7th Framework Programme).

Arianne worked as a postdoctoral research in the Department of Health Services Research at Maastricht University (2013-2014) on projects for, amongst others, the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sports (VWS) and Novo Nordisk Netherlands. Since 2014, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Services Research, with educational activities in several courses in the bachelor and master programmes Health. Here research interests are mainly related to risk stratification, predictive risk modelling and population health management.

Arianne is member of the editorial board of the International Journal for Care Coordination.

 

 

ptember of that same year, she was offered a junior researcher position within the former department of Health Organisation, Policy and Economics at Maastricht University, where she was involved, amongst others, in the evaluation of an outreach care intervention for homeless persons in Eindhoven. Early 2009, she started working as a PhD student on the European collaborative DISMEVAL (‘Developing and Validating Disease Management Evaluation Methods for European Health Care Systems’) project, under supervision of prof. dr. Bert Vrijhoef, prof. dr. Cor Spreeuwenberg, and dr. Inge Duimel-Peeters. During this period, as a member of the department of Health Services Research, she also performed various educational roles within the bachelor and master programmes in Health Sciences offered at Maastricht’s Faculty of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences.

 

 

Since December 2012, Arianne works as a postdoctoral research fellow based in the Redesigning Health Care research programme at the CAPHRI School for Public Health and Primary Care. Her research activities are aimed at optimising the organisation, funding, and evaluation of integrated care for people with chronic conditions. She is currently also vice-coordinator of the course on Innovation and Quality Management of Health Services offered within the master programme Health Policy, Innovation and Management.
